Why Fellowship?

This blog is a great place to have fellowship with other believers. Having fellowship with other Christians is great, but enjoying a relationship with our Creator is even better. Fellowship with Him is more glorious than it can ever be with any other person. Through companionship with Him, Christ teaches, refines and molds us into the person He wants us to be. Fellowship with Him is pleasing and enjoyable. Jesus wants us to have fellowship with Him. Fellowship with God, however, cannot exist without forgiveness of sins.

Most of us know what sin is. Simply put, it is the bad things we do. Just like there is a consequence for all our actions, sin is no exception. If you steal, you will be caught. If you lie, it will eventually ruin your life. Although those seem like tough prices to pay for such simple little things, they really can't compare to the eternal consequence for sin. Romans 3:23 shows us the ultimate price for our wrong-doing.

Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

The first part of this verse is easy. Nobody's perfect, right? Reading the second part of this verse we see the everlasting result of our sin: separation from the Glory of God. This “falling short” breaks our fellowship with the mighty Creator. Having our friends discover our secrets really doesn't come close to missing out on a relationship with God. The only real way for humans to jump off their highway-to-hell is through God’s love. The Holy God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, down to this earth to pay for our sin. This Ambassador from God came for the great exchange. Jesus was to give Himself in return for all the sins of this world!

II Corinthians 5:27
“For He [God] made Him [Jesus] who knew no sin to be sin for us, [you and me] that we may become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Since that day that Jesus finally died on the cross, He became our stairway to heaven! God is willing to wipe away all of our sin just so that we can have a relationship with Him. The love of God is real, and sacrificing, willing to give it all for us. What a privilege that the greatest gift in history costs nothing! God made it so easy for us. John 1:12 tells us exactly how to accept this amazing gift.

John 1:12
“But as many as received Him [Jesus], to those who believed in His [Jesus] name, He [God] gave the right to become children of God.”

We just need to have faith in God, and believe in what Jesus did and God promises that we can become part of His eternal Family! Paul tells us in a later book that Salvation is by faith, not by works. There is nothing that we can do to earn heaven, it’s a gift. We just need to accept it.

To establish a relationship with God you must first realize that you’re a sinner, and confess those sins before God. Once you have admitted your wrongdoings you have to believe that Jesus died on the cross, and that His death was enough to pay for all our sins. Having done that, you then make the decision to follow Jesus and His example.

Being a Christian doesn’t just end there. There are some principles you may want get in the habit of doing in order to start growing in Christ. We’d like to encourage you to daily spend time in prayer and reading the Bible. There are many ways God can speak to you, but the most important way is through His Word. His Word is the most vital part of the Christian's life. Another step that we’d like to encourage you to take is to join a church. Find a Christian, Bible believing church that teaches and instructs in the way of the Lord. There, through the pastor, you will learn more about God’s word and gain a deeper understanding of it. You will also have the opportunity to fellowship face-to-face with other believers of the church. Examples of this would be talking and sharing what God has been teaching you, how you are growing in Him, or anything else that brings you closer to God.

All these principles aren’t invented, they are revealed to us in the Bible.
2 Peter 3:18 says:
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
Growing in Jesus Christ is a privilege. Having fellowship with God is amazing and exiting.
We have an incredible time in our relationship with God and would love for you to experience the same thing we have and participate in this adventure along with us.

God bless,
